The Han River Literary Festival 2010
The Han River Literary Festival 2010 is one part of the Han River Renaissance Project, which aims to transform the Han River into a living space, as well as a cultural arts area comfortable to citizens, all in celebration of the “World of Water.”
This endeavor started in 2009 to create a literary festival scene where art and recreation could hold hands, where new powers of imagination and stories could be refined, stored, and flow at Sunyoudo Park, a park that was originally a filtration plant but recycled into a park. The Foundation and the Seoul Metropolis Han River Project Headquarters co-hosted this festival, and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and the Traffic Broadcasting System (TBS) sponsored. The festival opened for two days on October 9 (Saturday) and October 10 (Sunday) at Sunyoudo Park in the Hangang embracing the theme, “Literature, Flowing at Sunyou Island.” The main programs included the opening ceremony, unveiling of the Han River Declaration, a Literary Walk with Writers, the Han River Literary Award, and a literature expo among others.
